Irreverent

Related to a current news item. Incredibly inappropriate, and probably too soon, but hilarious if you're into that kind of humor:
5:15:11 PM [removed]: so ... do the Raiders get a sandwich pick or something?

Based on the education I've had...

I recently sent the following email to a "friend":
we're trying to come up with a domain name for a [removed] site i'm building on nights and weekends. any ideas?
After a bit of back and forth where this "friend" tried to get a better grip on the idea, I sent the following:
i can't really share any of that.

it shouldn't take much more than knowing it's a [removed] application to come up with a domain name though...
The response, was classic. 12 kilobytes of arrogance, explaining to me why he needs to know the entire business idea before he can brainstorm a domain name. The best part however, was easily the opener:
Well, I disagree. If you ask my opinion I'm going to give you an informed business perspective based on the education I've had which thinks...
Well excuse me Steve Jobs! To be fair, I should add that the rest of his response was fairly polite (for him) and helpful. That opener though, is unforgivable.

No Offense...

One of my "friends" is a HUGE fantasy sports geek. His self worth is guided by his performance in the myriad leagues he participates in. He's always been a bit condescending toward other players, as this email demonstrates:
Keif, no offense, but I suggested to [nr] not to invite you to PA 2K9.

It's not my league, but I think it's only fair to everyone to give someone else a shot instead of you. You just started a new job and have a new girlfriend, will probably have less time and will be less committed than usual. Not to mention that your historic performance has been sub par also.

I would like to eventually find a group of 12 really serious managers and hope than you are in it someday. But for now, I think it's fair to say you don't deserve an invitation.

If you think this is not right, fine and sorry. Take your best shot at
[nr]. ;) Get the league ID and PW with .

We can still talk baseball...hehe.

Nevermind that the author of this email has an infant daughter. But, you know, one day I might be considered a serious manager. Fingers crossed!
